A Film's Significance
Filmmaking is arguably the paragon of creative art; it is an intricate process that combines very distinct categories of artistry like literature, culture, religion, visual design, music, and editing. In the end, we are rewarded with a stunning amalgamation that is a film. I especially enjoy watching films not because they are an easier alternative to books, but because they are the bridge between fantasy and reality. Superheroes, theories, personal ideas and other "impossibilities" have the golden opportunity to materialize from our imaginations, and I believe to be able to visually experience such fantasy is the greatest satisfaction a human can attain.
The Blog
Sometimes, watching a film alone does not offer the entire experience behind the art of filmmaking. Through further interest, we may explore and research the cast, box office, production, themes, and history, in order to capture the essence of any film. After that, we begin forming our own opinions, begin discussing with our peers, and most importantly, begin enjoying films beyond the screen. And to do just that, Let's Rewind was created in 2017 to be one of many mediums where I can share and express my passion for films. I am no professional expert in filmmaking, nor an editor-in-chief for any famous film magazine, but I hope to deliver the equivalent depth and zeal to the readers.
The Reviews
Art has been, is and always will be subjective. Filmmaking is no different, and as a result, the reviews on Let's Rewind are indubitably written from my point of view, and don't necessarily tell the truth. No reviews are purposely written to encourage or discourage readers to watch a particular film; they are honest evaluations that reflect what I experienced, nothing more. There is no distinct pattern or chronological commitment throughout my reviews. Readers will encounter film titles of various genres, eras and quality at Let's Rewind. However, because the film industry is so prolific, I'll never be lucky enough to watch and review every single film, which is the list of titles will be randomized and of course, diversified.
